The Granary, Croft Farm, Snape (also see The Forge) (map)
Snape village is 5 miles inland from Aldeburgh, a small, unspoilt but stylish town with a wonderful shingle beach. In addition to the concert hall and shopping complex, Snape offers a range of services including three pubs, a village store, post office, and petrol station with long opening hours. Guests are welcome to enjoy the farmland and we have provided a circular walk giving access to the peaceful landscape surrounding the River Fromus, a small waterway which meanders it's way to the River Alde. The farm tracks link with public footpaths, allowing access in all directions, across scenic countryside, to places of local interest such as the famous Snape Maltings and River Alde, or towards Aldeburgh via the Sailor’s Path. The Granary has been very tastefully converted from an old granary building into a light and airy cottage, keeping as much of the original character as possible. Available throughout the year, it is ideal for families of up to 6 people, but equally welcoming for couples or small family groups who want to spoil themselves with that little extra space. The Granary has a walled, toddler proof, garden area overlooking a grass paddock which is used at times for sheep grazing. The ground floor has a spacious kitchen/dining area with a fully equipped kitchen and catering facilities. There is also a utility room complete with washer/dryer and ironing facilities plus a cloakroom with WC, washbasin and shower cubicle. The lounge is comfortably furnished, complete with colour TV and music system. This leads to the first floor accommodation which offers a twin room, a room with full size bunk beds, suitable for adults, and a double-bedded room with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. There is also a bathroom and WC on this floor. All prices include bed linen, towels, electricity and central heating. A highchair and travel cot are also available. It is important to note that we operate a non-smoking policy in all areas of the accommodation. Outside, there is a designated car parking area with ample space for a boat and a covered area for bicycles or other equipment if needed. |
