Pilgrims Way, 18 Pilgrims Way, Thorpeness, Suffolk IP16 4LZ (map)

|
The picturesque village of Thorpeness was the vision of one man, Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie, who, in the 1920s, set out to design a holiday village like no other, where there was something for everyone and where families in particular could enjoy themselves. Today, this small village is home to a friendly local pub; small village store; the wonderfully magical Meare boating lake, with islands and channels named after characters and places in the story Peter Pan; a restaurant; the renowned Golf Club, with restaurant and bar; and, of course, the wonderful stretch of shingle and sand beach. The town of Aldeburgh, famous for the annual Music Festival founded by Benjamin Britten, and where fishermen still pull their boats up onto the beach to sell their fresh fish, is a short drive away.
Pilgrims Way is a 3 bedroom cottage, which was once home to one of the estate workers employed to assist in the construction of Thorpeness. It is located through a mock-Tudor archway on a private road in a quiet part of the village, and allows very easy access on foot to the beach, pub, shop, Meare, Golf Club, etc. The cottage has recently been completely refurbished and now offers a well equipped, light and airy modern interior and an enclosed rear garden with a large sunny patio.
