Lavender Cottage is one of three terraced cottages, reached via a leafy private passageway tucked away off the Conservation Area of the lovely medieval Market Hill.
Two large double bedrooms - each with the option for superking or twin beds, so ideal for one or two couples or families of up to 4. Both bedrooms have lovely scenic views across the rooftops of Woodbridge to Sutton Hoo.
Upstairs bathroom with WC and over-bath shower and a further downstairs cloakroom with WC.
From the front door the well proportioned hall leads on one side to the well equipped shaker style kitchen with dining area. To the other side is a comfortable spacious sitting room with TV and DVD.
The pretty country style front garden has a lawn and flower beds with a table and chairs, perfect for coffee or meals in the garden on sunny days. 'Pay and Display' Car Park about 100 metres from cottage - at time of writing £2 a day or a great value £10 weekly ticket is also valid for lots of other long stay tourist car parks locally. Also some unlimited free roadside parking nearby. If you are holidaying without a car Woodbridge is on the train line to London and is served by a good taxi service.
Lavender Cottage is an ideal base to explore the coast, countryside and inland villages of this lovely part of Suffolk.
Located just off the beautiful Market Hill in Woodbridge, Lavender Cottage is secluded from traffic, yet just a stone's throw from some of the town's many restaurants and cafes.
Less than five minutes walk from the cottage is the largely pedestriansed and thriving shopping centre, with a mixture of specialist food shops and supermarkets, boutiques and antique shops, local museums, galleries, bookshops and a very tempting chocolate shop. There is even a privately run cinema with adjacent restaurant.
The cottage is ideally situated for exploring some of the prettiest Suffolk towns and villages, with many peaceful riverside, heath and forest walks. Dunwich Forest, Minsmere Bird Reserve and the heath areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are wonderful for birdwatchers and walkers. Sutton Hoo and Rendlesham Forest are ten minutes' drive away and a footpath along the River Deben is within ten minutes walk of Lavender Cottage. The cottage is also within easy driving distance of the coastal towns and villages of Aldeburgh, Orford, Southwold, Dunwich and Walberswick. Snape Maltings attracts music lovers and has many specialist shops.
There are many cycle routes along the East Coast through forests and country lanes. The Tide Mill by the river is probably the best known landmark of the town and is open to visitors as advertised.
